Personal pickup (warehouse dispatch)

How to set up a shipping method for pickup from your own shop or warehouse.

What is this feature?

Personal pickup lets the store owner mark a shipping method as pickup from their own shop or warehouse. Unlike Packeta, GLS, or Slovak Post, no external carrier is involved — the customer comes to collect the parcel directly from you.

Examples of use:

  • A shop in town (e.g. "Nitra Store, Palárikova 22")
  • A warehouse with a pickup counter
  • Several shops — each as a separate shipping method

Prerequisites — warehouse setup

Before you create the shipping method, you need a correctly configured warehouse with personal pickup enabled.

Path: Catalog › Stock › Warehouses — the Add Warehouse button, or ⋯ › Edit on an existing warehouse

  1. In the warehouse dialog, in the Pickup Point Settings section, switch on Enable Pickup Point
  2. Fill in:
    • Pickup Point Name — shown to the customer at checkout Example: Nitra Store
    • Pickup Point Address — street, city, postal code Example: Palárikova 22, 90901 Nitra
    • Pickup Point Notes (optional) — e.g. opening hours or instructions Example: Mon–Fri 8:00–17:00, Sat 9:00–12:00
  3. Save the warehouse with Create / Update

Tip: Without Enable Pickup Point switched on, neither the toggle nor the info panel appears on the shipping method. A warehouse with a pickup point has a Pickup point badge in the warehouse list.

Setting up the shipping method

Path: System › Basic Settings › Shipping › Shipping Methods — Add New Shipping Method, or click an existing method

In the method dialog, open the Carrier & warehouse tab and in the "Warehouse & Pickup" section do the following:

1. Choose the warehouse

In the Warehouse list, tick the warehouse the goods will be handed out from.

  • Warehouses with a pickup point enabled are marked with a 📍 icon
  • After you select a warehouse with a pickup point, a green "Pickup point active" info panel appears with a preview of the details (name, address, notes)

2. Switch on "In-store Pickup (warehouse)"

This toggle marks the shipping method as pickup from the warehouse.

⚠️ Warning: Use this option ONLY for your own shops and warehouses. Do not combine it with Packeta, GLS, Slovak Post, or any other courier.

If the selected warehouse does not have a pickup point enabled, a grey message with a link to the warehouse settings is shown.

3. Save the shipping method

Confirm the dialog with Add Method / Update Method. In the list, the method shows the "In-store Pickup (warehouse)" badge.

The customer's experience at checkout

When the customer chooses a shipping method marked as personal pickup:

  1. An info panel with the pickup point details appears automatically under the shipping choice:
    • 🏪 Heading: In-store Pickup
    • The location: Nitra Store
    • The address: Palárikova 22, 90901 Nitra
    • Notes / opening hours (if filled in)
  2. No dialog or map — the location is fixed, the customer just sees where to come
  3. The customer completes the order with their billing address

In the admin — order detail

Path: Sales › Orders › Overview → order detail → Shipping & Billing Information

Orders with personal pickup show a green info card:

  • 🏪 Warehouse Pickup Point
  • Point: Nitra Store
  • Address: Palárikova 22, 90901 Nitra
  • Notes (if filled in)

Several shops / pickup points

If you have several shops or warehouses, simply:

  1. Create a separate warehouse for each location (each with its own pickup point details)
  2. Create a separate shipping method for each location, assigned to that warehouse

The customer chooses a specific location by choosing the matching shipping method (e.g. "Personal pickup – Nitra", "Personal pickup – Bratislava").

Frequently asked questions

Why doesn't the green info panel appear when I set up the shipping method? Check that Enable Pickup Point is switched on for the selected warehouse. Without this setting, neither the details nor the toggle are shown.

Can I use personal pickup for Packeta or another courier? No. This feature is meant only for your own pickup points (warehouses, shops). Packeta, GLS, and Slovak Post have their own integrations with a location picker on a map.

Is the pickup point address shown in the customer's confirmation e-mail? The pickup point details are currently visible at checkout and in the order admin. If you want to include the location in the e-mail, edit the e-mail template in System › Basic Settings › Emails › Email Templates.

What happens if I change the warehouse address later? The change applies to new orders. Existing orders keep the original details saved when the order was created.
