Merzio offers a comprehensive set of marketing tools to help you increase sales, build customer loyalty, and optimize your e-commerce strategy. In the Marketing section you will find tools for managing coupons, automatic gifts, announcements, popups, tracking codes, quantity discounts, and the loyalty program.

Coupons

Path: Admin > Marketing > Coupons (/admin/coupons)

Coupons are one of the most effective tools for increasing sales, motivating customers, and building loyalty.

Coupon Overview

In the coupon overview you see all created coupons displayed as cards. Each card shows:

  • Code — The coupon identifier in the card header (e.g. "SUMMER20")
  • Coupon name — The name of the coupon
  • Type — A color-coded indicator of the discount type (e.g. "Percentage discount")
  • Value — The discount amount or sum
  • Usage — Number of uses (e.g. "1 / ∞" means 1 use with no limit)
  • Expiration — The date the coupon expires
  • Search — Find coupons by code or name
  • Type — Filter by discount type (all 9 types)
  • Status — Filter by status (active, inactive, expired)

Coupon Actions

For each coupon the following actions are available:

  • View — Preview the coupon without making changes
  • Edit — Change coupon settings
  • Deactivate — Temporarily disable without deleting
  • Delete — Permanently remove the coupon

Creating a Coupon

Click Create coupon and fill in the form in two columns:

Left Column: Basic Information

  • Coupon code* — Unique code that customers enter (e.g. "SUMMER20")
    • Generate button — Automatically generates a random code
  • Name* — Internal name of the coupon (e.g. "Summer discount 20%")
  • Description — Optional description of the coupon
  • Type* — Choose from 9 available types:
    1. Percentage discount
    2. Fixed amount
    3. Free shipping
    4. Free gift
    5. New customer
    6. Loyalty
    7. Time-limited
    8. Exclusive
    9. Bulk discount
  • Value* — The discount amount (percentage or sum)

Right Column: Usage and Restrictions

  • Minimum order amount — Minimum purchase amount to apply the coupon (default: 0.00)
  • Maximum discount — Maximum possible discount amount (default: No limit)
  • Coupon currency — Select the discount currency (e.g. EUR, USD)
  • Usage limit — Maximum total number of times the coupon can be applied (default: No limit)
  • Usage limit per user — How many times one customer can use the coupon (default: No limit)
  • Applies to — Select what the coupon applies to (e.g. "Total cart amount")
  • Active — Checkbox activates the coupon (default: checked)

TIP

Use the Import coupons button to bulk-import coupons from a file for campaigns with a large number of unique codes.

After filling in all required fields (marked with *) click Save coupon. The coupon is now available for your customers.


Automatic Gifts

Path: Admin > Marketing > Automatic Gifts (/admin/automatic-gift-rules)

Automatic gifts allow you to send free products to customers without requiring a coupon code. Gifts are assigned automatically when configured conditions are met.

Rule Overview

If you have no automatic rules created, the message "No automatic gift rules" will be displayed.

Creating a Rule

Click + Create new rule and configure:

  • Condition — Based on what criteria the gift will be assigned (e.g. "Order over €100")
  • Gift product — Select the product that will be the gift
  • Validity date — When the rule is active
  • Limit — How many times the gift can be assigned in total

INFO

Customers receive the gift automatically without entering a coupon code.


Gift Products

Path: Admin > Marketing > Gift Products (/admin/gift-products)

Gift products are specially marked products used as free gifts in automatic rules or in "Free gift" type coupons.

Managing Gift Products

  • Browse all products marked as gifts
  • Edit their settings
  • Remove the gift designation
  • Set priority if used in automatic rules

Announcements

Path: Admin > Marketing > Announcements (/admin/announcements)

Announcements are messages displayed in the notification bar of your e-shop. They allow you to communicate with customers about current offers, discounts, or important information.

Managing Announcements

  • Create a new announcement
  • Edit existing announcements
  • Set display timing
  • Target announcements to specific customer groups
  • Deactivate or remove announcements

Customer Groups

Path: Admin > Marketing > Customer Groups (/admin/customer-groups)

Customer segmentation enables more targeted marketing.

Creating a Group

  • Group name — E.g. "VIP customers", "Wholesalers"
  • Criteria — Automatic assignment based on spending amount, number of orders, registration date, or country
  • Manual addition — Manually assign customers

Groups are used in coupons, automatic gifts, and quantity discounts.


Wholesale Customers (B2B)

Path: Admin > Marketing > Wholesale (/admin/b2b-customer-groups)

Manage wholesale customer groups and B2B customers. Use special prices and terms for individual groups.

B2B Setup

  • Wholesale prices — Lower prices for larger quantity orders
  • Wholesale accounts — Create accounts for wholesale partners
  • Payment terms — Set credit payments or NET30
  • Custom catalogs — Offer a different product selection for B2B customers

Reviews

Path: Admin > Marketing > Reviews (/admin/reviews)

Reviews increase trust and SEO for your store.

Review Settings

  • Allow reviews — Checking this activates the review feature on your e-shop
  • Submission policy — Configure how reviews are submitted (dropdown selection)
  • Require approval — Checking this requires reviews to be approved before being published
  • Admin email notifications — Checking this sends you a notification for each new review

After adjusting the settings click Save settings.

Filtering Reviews

  • Status — Filter reviews by status (approved, unapproved, rejected)
  • Search product — Search reviews by product name

Managing Reviews

  • Moderation — Approve or reject new reviews
  • Rating — View ratings (1–5 stars)
  • Responding — Reply to negative reviews
  • Exporting — Download feedback for analysis

Popups

Path: Admin > Marketing > Popups (/admin/popups)

Marketing popups with a visual editor. Popups use the same Blueprint system as the page builder — add content blocks just like when building pages.

Creating a Popup

  1. Enter a Name and URL identifier
  2. Click Create and open designer — the visual editor opens
  3. Add content blocks (same as in the page builder)

After creating a popup, configure the following:

Display

  • Maximum width/height — Dimensions of the popup window
  • Position — Center, Top left/right, Top/Bottom center, Bottom left/right

Trigger

  • Page load — Appears when the page loads
  • Scroll — Appears after scrolling to a set percentage of the page
  • Exit intent — Appears when the user attempts to leave the page
  • Time delay — Appears after a set number of seconds
  • Click — Appears after clicking on a specific element

Animation

Entry/exit animation:

  • Fade — Fade in/out
  • Slide up — Slide up
  • Slide down — Slide down
  • Zoom — Zoom in/out
  • None — No animation

Frequency

  • Always — Appears on every page visit
  • Once per session — Appears once per browser session
  • Once per user — Appears once for a given user
  • Daily — Appears at most once per day

Targeting

  • Users — Logged-in customers, guests, or everyone; by device (mobile / tablet / desktop)
  • Pages — Target pages (where the popup appears) or excluded pages (where it does not)
  • Scheduling — Start and end date for the popup's validity

Tracking Codes

Path: Admin > Marketing > Tracking Codes (/admin/tracking-codes)

Tracking codes allow you to monitor customer behavior on your e-shop and measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns.

Supported Tracking Tools

  • Google Analytics — Detailed tracking of traffic, user behavior, and conversions
  • Facebook Pixel — Conversion tracking and retargeting on Facebook
  • Google Ads — PPC campaign tracking and performance measurement
  • Custom codes — Insert custom JavaScript, HTML, or other tracking codes

Installing Tracking Codes

  1. Copy the code from the relevant tracking platform (e.g. GA4 measurement ID)
  2. Go to the Tracking Codes section in Merzio
  3. Paste the code and select the type
  4. Activate the code
  5. Test that the code is working correctly
  6. Monitor data on the respective platform

Quantity Discounts

Path: Admin > Marketing > Quantity Discounts (/admin/quantity-discounts)

Quantity discounts motivate customers to buy more and increase the average number of items per order.

Discount Overview

In the overview you see all created quantity discounts with filters:

  • Search discounts — Find discounts by name
  • Status — Filter by status (All, Active, Inactive)
  • Reset filters — Restore all filters to their default values

Creating a Quantity Discount

Click + Create quantity discount and fill in the form:

Basic Information

  • Discount name* — Internal name (e.g. "Discount 3+ pieces")
  • Description — Optional internal description
  • Public headline* — Name visible to customers on the product page
  • Priority — Application order in case of conflicts (default: 0)
  • Active — Toggle to activate/deactivate the discount
  • Time settings — Checking "Unlimited time" applies the discount permanently, otherwise set start and end dates

Discount Tiers

Set individual discount tiers in the table:

  • From — Minimum number of units for this tier
  • To — Maximum number of units (999 or more = no limit)
  • Discount % — Percentage discount for this tier

Product Assignment

  • All products — The discount applies to all products in the e-shop
  • Specific products — The discount applies only to selected individual products
  • Categories — The discount applies only to products in selected categories
  • Brands — The discount applies only to products of selected brands

Customer Assignment

  • All customers — Discount for everyone without exception
  • Registered customers — Only for logged-in users
  • Customer groups — Only for selected groups (if created)
  • B2B customers — Only for wholesale partners
  • Loyalty program — Only for loyalty program members
  • Include unregistered — Checking this extends the discount to guest customers as well

Display Settings

  • Show flag — Checking this displays a visual indicator on the product page
  • Flag color — Choose the flag color (red, green, blue, yellow, etc.)
  • Show table — Checking this displays a table with all discount tiers for the customer

Product Bundles

If you want to create a product bundle with a special price:

  • Select products — Combination of two or more products
  • Bundle discount % — Percentage discount on the entire bundle

Product bundles are displayed as separate offers in the e-shop.


Loyalty Program

Path: Admin > Marketing > Loyalty Program (/admin/loyalty/)

The loyalty program allows customers to collect points and redeem them for discounts or benefits.

Settings and Overview

Path: /admin/loyalty/settings

Program Activation

Use the Enable loyalty program toggle to activate or deactivate the entire system. When disabled, customers cannot collect points.

Points Configuration

  • Points per currency unit — Set how many points a customer earns per €1 purchase (default value is 1.00)
  • Round points — Checking this rounds points to whole numbers

Rules Tabs

The system offers four tabs with detailed settings:

  1. Earning points — Rules for earning points (purchase, referral, social networks)
  2. Redeeming points — Conditions for exchanging points for benefits
  3. Restrictions — Set maximum number of points, minimum purchase, etc.
  4. Expiration — Set how long points remain valid

Save and Reset

  • Save — Save all changes
  • Cancel — Cancel without saving
  • Reset — Restore to default values

Membership Levels

Path: /admin/loyalty/membership-levels

Define different membership levels (e.g. Bronze, Silver, Gold) with different advantages and benefits.

Loyalty Accounts

Path: /admin/loyalty/accounts

Manage individual customer loyalty accounts. View accumulated points and transaction history.

Member Assignments

Path: /admin/loyalty/assignments

Manage the assignment of members to individual loyalty levels and track their progress in the program.


Tips for Effective Marketing in Merzio

  • Combine tools — Combine coupons, automatic gifts, announcements, and popups for maximum effect
  • Targeted campaigns — Use customer groups and selections in quantity discounts and coupons
  • Testing — A/B test popups and coupons to find the most effective variants
  • Seasonal promotions — Set start and end times for holiday or seasonal campaigns
  • Performance measurement — Track campaign ROI through tracking codes
  • Automation — Use automatic gifts to increase satisfaction without manual effort
