Warehouse stock in the shop

Product and variant stock on the shop is shown from warehouse totals. On the product listing and the product detail page you'll see "in stock" or "out of stock". If total stock is 0, the product or variant is shown as out of stock.
Add to cart
When a customer adds to cart or changes the quantity:
- Available stock = the warehouse total minus the quantity already reserved (e.g. for other carts or pending orders).
- If orders into negative stock are not allowed and available stock is lower than the requested quantity, the system shows "not enough stock". Whether they are allowed is decided by the variant, the product, and finally the global switch — see When orders into negative stock are allowed.
- If stock reservations are enabled, adding to cart reserves stock; the reservation is released when the cart is abandoned or the order is cancelled. The actual deduction from the warehouse happens on payment or when the order is fulfilled.
