AI analytics
Path: Insights › Analytics › Analytics Overview (/admin/analytics) → Overview tab
More and more customers ask AI assistants (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Copilot, Gemini) while shopping. The AI overview card shows how many visits, orders and revenue those assistants actually bring you, and how AI bots read your store. Measurement is fully automatic — there is nothing to configure.
Where to find it
On the Analytics Overview page, in the Overview tab, the "AI overview" card (with a sparkles icon) sits below the metrics and charts. The View all button switches you to the Traffic tab, where the AI assistants source type shows only visits from AI.
The card appears when visitor tracking is enabled.
Top metrics
| Metric | What it means |
|---|---|
| AI sessions | Number of visits that arrived at your store from an AI assistant's answer (e.g. a customer clicked a link in a ChatGPT result). |
| AI orders | Paid orders from those AI sessions. |
| AI revenue | Revenue from those orders. |
| AI crawler visits | How many times AI bots (crawlers) fetched your store's pages. |
Breakdown
The card has two columns (shown once there is some data):
- AI sources — which AI assistants people arrive from, with session count and revenue. Recognized: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Copilot, Gemini, plus You, Poe and Mistral.
- AI bots — how many visits each crawler made (e.g. GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, Applebot, Google-Extended, CCBot, anthropic-ai and others).
Below the bots there is an AI agents line — live assistants that act on a user's behalf and can even add to cart or complete an order (ChatGPT-User, Claude-User, Perplexity-User) — with visits, orders and revenue.
How a visit is counted as "AI"
- People from AI answers are recognized by the visit source (referrer) — which AI service the customer came from.
- Bots and agents are recognized by the browser identification (user-agent).
- Fetches of "machine" files (product feed,
robots.txt,llms.txt,sitemap.xml) count as a crawler visit, not a customer session.
Tied to AI Visibility
Whether AI bots may read your store at all (and therefore recommend you) is controlled in the AI Visibility settings. If you block the assistant bots, AI sessions and recommendations will decline over time.
Configuration
None. Measurement runs automatically for every store. The related Analytics Dashboard holds the rest of the traffic and sales metrics.
